Mildred Lucille Britton, age 96 of Harrogate, Tenn., was born January 24, 1917, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on January 25 ,2013. She graduated with honors from LMU class of 1940. She was the oldest active member of Harrogate First Baptist church.

She began her teaching career in Claiborne county for eight years, then the next 31 years in the Middlesboro Independent school system and retired in 1979. She was preceded in death by husband Cade Britton Sr. of 22 years; father and mother William Martin and Cordella Southern Bush ; brothers, Leonard and William; sisters Eula Seabolt and Lillian Pauline Bush; niece and nephew Janet Mulholland and Joe Ed Seabolt.

Survived by nieces and nephews: Geneva Harah, Dot Evans, Kyle Bush, Lillard Bush, Lucille Crigger, June Phillips, Linda Ann Rice; special great niece and caregiver: Mildred Seabolt; and a host of other great, great-great and great great great nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver: Josephine Bush.

Special recognition to the Amedisys Hospice and Staff and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday January 28 from 6-9pm at the Coffey funeral home in Harrogate

Funeral service will be Tuesday January 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harrogate First Baptist church with burial to follow in the Harrogate cemetery ministers: Dr. Malcolm Hester and Rev. Bill Duncan

Pallbearers: Bobby Seabolt, Jason Seabolt, John Rice, Scott Rice, David Billingsley, Jordan Billingsley

Honorary pallbearers: Hershel Rice, Waylon Carr, Lilliard Bush, Kyle Bush, Cade Britton Jr, Dr. Robert Ziegler
