Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons reports that his officers discovered 164 marijuana plants just off Paris Road in the Hines Hill section of Jonesville.

Parsons said that Deputy J.T. Coleman was told by an informant where the plants were located. The plants were recovered by Coleman, Deputy Warren Wright and reserve deputy Junior Moore.

According to Parsons, the Virginia State Police value a marijuana plant at $3,000 at maturity. The plants found were between 3 and 7 feet tall.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the matter and urges anyone with information about this or any other criminal activity to call the sheriff’s office at (276) 346-7777.
