Paul N. Thompson, 78, of Middlesboro, passed away Wednesday, February 20, at the Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility after a lengthy illness.

He was born February 14, 1935 at Page, KY, the son of the late James M. and Martha E. Smith Thompson. He was a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church of Middlesboro. He was honorably discharge from the United States Navy after 21 years of service to his country.

He is survived by the following members of his family: his beloved wife of 30 years: June Rich Thompson of Middlesboro, KY; children: Barbara, John and Wayne Thompson all of Morristown, TN; step children: Donnie Wyatt of Middlesboro and Elmer Wyatt of Somerset, KY; grandchildren: Ashley Baker of Pineville, KY, Dustin Thompson of Morristown, TN; great grandchildren: Zyler Thompson of Pineville, Bethany Ford of Middlesboro, Adam Wyatt of Somerset; 2 sisters: June Cave of Louisville, KY and Anna Thompson of Leon, Oklahoma.

At Mr. Thompson’s request, funeral and interment services will be private.

Rev. Jay Sulfridge will officiate.
