A Pineville man was arrested early Saturday morning in Claiborne County, Tenn. on multiple animal cruelty charges.
Charlie Gregory, 58, of Pineville, was arrested after a traffic stop revealed 108 chickens, nine peacocks, 18 rabbits and seven dogs crammed into a single horse trailer.
Taniciah Little, 54, of Andersonville, Tenn., was also arrested.
They were arraigned on Monday. with each being held at the Claiborne County Justice Center on a $50,000 secured bond.
All of the animals have found temporary homes at the Claiborne County Animal Shelter.
Gregory signed over rights of the seven dogs to the the shelter, while the other animals must remain in the shelter’s custody until the Gregory and Little appear in court on the charges.
The shelter was not equipped for the animals, but the staff and volunteers are quickly making what improvements they can to house the animals.
The shelter relies on the public to keep the facility running. Shelter officials are asking for anyone who can help to please do so.
“What we really need are monetary donations,” explained Liza Martz, Claiborne County Animal Shelter director.

In other police news, a Pineville man was arrested on a theft charge Wednesday. Tony Lord, 50, was arrested on the charge of receiving stolen property under $10,000.
According to the arrest citation, Lord allegedly aided Jeffery Taylor in receiving stolen property including a 14-inch Stihl Chain Saw ($500), Dewalt Grinder ($60), Black and Decker drill ($20), True Temple Mattock ($30) and a black and red tool box ($200).
The items were allegedly stolen from Phillips Tree Exports Inc.
Lord allegedly transported Taylor and the stolen property in his vehicle so Taylor could sell the property. He was released from custody on Friday.
But Charlie gregory takes care of his animals better than anyone. he travels to and from the flea market
without any problem or loss of Livestock.
