Richard A. Bowles, age 64 of Frakes, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at his home in Frakes.
He was a believer in the Christian faith and last attended Binghamtown Baptist Church. Born April 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert Bowles and Edith Bowles who survives.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Joe Bowles and Bobby Bowles.
He is survived by the following members of his family: wife, Anita Bowles of Frakes; sons, Richard D. Bowles of Pine Knot and Owen Bowles and daughter-in-law Amy Bowles of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Rachel Cooper and son-in-law Eddie Cooper of Barbourville; grandchildren, Mackenzie Bowles, Sean Bennett Pursifull, Justin Cooper, Emily Cooper and Raychel Bowles; special mother-in-law, Mildred Hammontree; brothers, Roger Bowles and Jerry Bowles of Charmco, W.Va., sister, Ramona Mills of Atlanta, Ga.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends; cherished christian brothers, William Boyd Bingham, Lonnie Lyke, Mike Welch and Don Collett; and very special friend, Loraine Lamb and many others.
The family will receive friends from 5- 7 p. m. Friday, Sept. 2, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Welch and the Rev. William Boyd Bingham presiding. Music will be provided by Thomassa Risner, J.B. Brewer, Lois Brewer and Eddie Johnson.
Interment will be Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Hammontree Family Cemetery in Chenoa. Pallbearers will be Richard D. Bowles, Owen Bowles, Joe Hammontree, William Hammontree, Daniel Gaylor and Weldy Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Cooper, Isaac Hammontree, Aaron Gaylor and Doug Hammontree.
