Robert Preston Rowland, 82 of Palmetto, FL., passed away Thursday Feb. 14, 2013 at his home. He was born Aug. 4, 1930 in Lee Co., VA., a son of the late Charles F. and Minnie Wolfe Rowland. He was owner of Southern Ohio Drywall Inc. and R and R Builders of Dayton, OH for 35 years. He was a member of Martin Station Lodge # 188, Free and Accepted Masons, Huber Heights Masonic Lodge # 777, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, OH., and Antioch Temple of Dayton, OH. He graduated from Thomas Walker High School in 1946. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

Survivors include: wife of 57 years: Karlene Rowland of Palmetto, FL.; 2 sons: Robert Preston Rowland, Jr. of Newport, TN., Charles Nathan Rowland of Dayton, OH.; sister-in-laws: Clara Rowland, Pauline Rowland and Mildred Snyder; grandchildren: Christian Marie (Patrick) Flaherty, Jessica Lynn Rowland, and Nathan Michael Rowland; and a host of nieces and nephews

A Masonic service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Creech Funeral Home given by the Martin Station Lodge # 188 with Funeral service to follow with Rev. David Wade presiding. Interment will follow at the Rowland Cemetery at Caylor, VA. Pallbearers will be Nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Monday at the Creech Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
