HARROGATE, Tenn. — The Lincoln Memorial University athletic department has announced a pair of promotions for the upcoming week in Railsplitter and Lady Railsplitter basketball.
On Tuesday evening, the athletic department will be giving away a Subway Party Tray, compliments of game sponsor Subway of Harrogate, to the lucky winner of a shooting competition to be held at halftime of the Lady Railsplitters’ contest against Winston Salem State University.
Three contestants will be selected at random via a ticket drawing at halftime, with tickets being handed out at the entrance. The winner takes home the Subway Party Tray, which contains 15 portions to serve between five and nine people.
Paired with that promotion, Claiborne County Schools and ENACTUS, formerly known as Students in Free Enterprise, have partnered for a canned food drive. These two groups are cooperatively collecting canned foods to be donated to the local food bank, Servolution Ministries. In coordination with this effort, the LMU athletic department will provide free admission for both games slated to be held in Tex Turner Arena this week for anyone who donates a canned food item at the entrance.
If you wish a dollar donation can be substituted for one can of food. Some suggestions are canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned soups, crackers, cereal, instant mashed potatoes, dry or canned beans, and macaroni and cheese, or any other nonperishable food item. Any of these items can be donated at the door to receive free entrance to that contest.
This promotion is available for the Lady Railsplitters’ game against Winston Salem State on Tuesday, November 20th as well as the Railsplitters’ contest against Hiwassee College on Saturday, November 24th.
Help the Claiborne County School system and ENACTUS can hunger by donating a canned food item at the entrance and earn free admission to the game.
The Lady Railsplitters are set to tip off against Winston Salem State University at 6 p.m. tomorrow evening in Tex Turner Arena while the Railsplitters return to the friendly confines of Tex Turner on Saturday, November 24th at 4 p.m..
