Mrs. Vina Elizabeth Chadwell was born July 9, 1925 and passed away November 27, 2012 at Laurel Manor Nursing Home in New Tazewell, Tenn. following a severe disabling stroke on November 1, 2012. She was a life-long resident of Claiborne County and a graduate of Claiborne County High School. Elizabeth retired from Kentucky Utilities in Middlesboro, Ky. after 37 years of service. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of New Tazewell for 72 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Emma Chadwell and her sister, Eula Collier Moore.

She is survived by her sisters, Bula Taylor of New Tazewell, Tenn., Ellen and brother-in-law Thomas Ailey of Knoxville, Tenn.; niece, Elaine Ailey of Knoxville; nephews, David Ailey of Knoxville and Allen Collier of New Tazewell; special friend of over 50 years, Letton Bush of New Tazewell; and a host of other dear friends and relatives.

The family will receive friends on Thursday November 29, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of New Tazewell (814 Buchanan Road) at 11 a.m. on Friday November 30, 2012 with Pastor Larry Sharp officiating. Music will be provided by Pat Tarter. Burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Minton, Chris Whitaker, Swan Whitaker, Bill Starnes, Jack Cook, Dan Ferrell and Don Ray Fannon.
