Wilma Jean Yates Saylor

Wilma Jean Yates Saylor, age 64 of Arjay, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Middlesboro on Nov. 11, 1947, and was a daughter of the late Henry and Dora Esther Wilson Yates. She believed in the Pentecostal faith, and had been a seamstress at Cowden’s and M. Fine.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Patrick Wheeler; and several brothers and sisters, Robert Yates, Clarence Yates, Isaiah Yates, Evelyn Banks, Lucy Ellen Marsee and Janice Yates.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, James C. Saylor;

children and their spouses, Teresa and Eric Bauer Sr., Thomas and Tammy Wheeler, Mary and Wiley Pittman and Sue Annette Wheeler; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Isaac Yates, Florence Yates and Lavanna Yates; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Saylor presiding. Music will be by Manasseh Bauer, Mickey Wilder and Trina Coots.

Burial will be in the Yates Cemetery at Hutch. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be Isaac Yates.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Saylor family. Light a virtual candle or sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
