A two-vehicle crash on Highway 119 caused injuries and stalled afternoon traffic for hours on Tuesday. A Chevy Lumina and a Ford Mustang collided in the early afternoon on a slick road in front of Save-A-Lot and Family Dollar, sending the Lumina into an eastbound ditch. The Mustang was in the westbound lane and appeared to sustain the most damage.

According to Bell County Rescue Squad Captain Steve Barton, two individuals in the Mustang were transported to the hospital. While Barton didn’t treat the individuals, he did not believe the injuries to be life-threatening.

Traffic was backed up from the wreck to the bridge at the Highway 25-E intersection.

Kentucky State Police handled the wreck, but was not available to provide more information by press time. The Bell County Rescue Squad, EMS, and Fire Department were on scene to assist.
