Karen Sue Howard Hoskins, 58 of Pineville, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Middlesboro on March 17, 1954 and was a daughter of the late Berlin and Betty Jo Young Howard. Karen was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church and attended East Jellico Baptist Church. She had worked as a Surgical Nurse for the Hazard ARH Hospital and was a former city clerk for the City of Pineville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay Hoskins.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, David Hoskins of Pineville; children, Kimberly Hoskins and Bruce Fields of Hazard, David Wayne Hoskins, Jr. of Hazard and Kelly Hoskins Gabbard and husband, Chase of Lafollette; step-daughters, Joanna Hoskins Foley and husband Chris of Pineville and Jaime Hoskins Wilder and husband Jason of Berea; grandchildren, Jayden Reece Foley, Isabella Fields, Nash Wilder, Tucker Fields and Dax Gabbard; brother, Berlin “Berky” Howard of Pineville; sister, Debbie Bothoff of Middlesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
At Karen’s request, private cremation services were held on Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Cremation Center in Pineville. The family received friends for a time of remembrance on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Hoskins family.
