Two Tennessee men have been arrested on drug possession charges, while a Pineville man has been charged with trying to fill a forged prescription at a local pharmacy.

Jeffrey L. Noe and Donald Goins were both arrested on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest citation, Noe, 50, of Tazewell, Tenn., was arrested after a traffic stop on Happy Hallow Road. Chuck Bruce of the Middlesboro Police Department (MPD) performed the stop on the vehicle.

In the citation, Bruce stated he noticed Noe would not make eye contact with him. He asked Noe to exit the vehicle and a search was performed. As a result of the search, the officer found a baggie with a yellowish substance later identified as methamphetamine.

The citation stated the officer found a blue pill believed to be hydrocodone.

Noe was charged with second-degree possession of a controlled substance for the pill and drug paraphernalia.

Officer Jordan Hurd of the MPD arrested Goins, 25, of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., on two counts of first-degree possession.

Hurd said he found a white tablet believed to be morphine on Goins, as well as blue round tablets believed to be Roxicodone.

Goins was also charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly having tablets believed to be Xanax.

In other police news, Proctor Anthony Jones, 26, of Pineville, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a forged prescription.

According to the citation, Jones allegedly attempted to get a forged prescription filled at Walmart Pharmacy.

Jones was arrested by Josh Pratt of the MPD.
