Staff Report

A Middlesboro man remains behind bars after allegedly robbing Belk inside the Middlesboro Mall on Dec. 26. Casey Tip Dalton, 37, was arrested by Floyd Patterson of the Middlesboro Police Department on the charge of second-degree robbery.

According to the arrest citation, an employee with Loss Prevention for Belk stated a white male, later identified as Dalton, came into the store and concealed three watches valued at $90.

The employee approached Dalton as he was exiting the store with the stolen watches, according to the citation. Dalton allegedly resisted and pushed the employee. As a result of the struggle, several racks of clothing and other merchandise were knocked down.

Dalton then allegedly fled on foot from the store and could not be located. However, he was arrested at Walmart on Sunday, according to the citation.

Dalton was also charged with third-degree criminal trespassing for being at Walmart while banned from their property for being convicted of shoplifting at the store.
