Rev. Clay Harrell Jr., age 82 of Middlesboro, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born March 13, 1930, in Middlesboro, and was the son of the late Clay Henry Harrell Sr. and Sadie Snodgrass Harrell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Harrell; and two sisters, Mary Hoskins and Martha Thomas.
He is survived by one son, David (Melissa) Harrell; two daughters, Karen Sue (Delbert) North and Melinda Harrell; two sisters, Cleo (Rev. Boyd) Gray and Della King; two brothers, Steve (Phyllis) Harrell and Lewis (Frances) Harrell; grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Martin, Shane Harrell, Trent North, Shayna Bracey, Landen and Braden Reid; nephew, Brian Gray; niece, Sherri Bolden; one great-granddaughter, Atalee Martin; and special friend, Derek Ayers.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Robbins officiating. Music will be provided by Alva Cunningham.
Burial will be in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Thursday at the Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
