Staff Report
Pine Mountain State Resort Park is inviting everyone to visit the Haunted Campground for a good scare in honor of Halloween.
According to Joanna Foley, the Director of the Main Street program, “in conjunction with the park and many volunteers, we have pulled this off instead of the Haunted Jail. This year we decided to enter into a partnership with the park and moved it to the campground. We have had many volunteers but there has been a few that have been instrumental such as Terry Pannell, Nikki McCarty, Brittany Lynch, Tosha Rutherford, Ricky West, Chris Foley, Darrin Nichols, Issac Ledbetter, Aaron Rutherford, Kim Parks, Jamie Hensley and Jason Steele.”
All the money earned is used to continue to do community events like Kids Fest.
“We hope the community will get behind us and come and take a tour of the haunted campground,” Foley said. “There are new volunteers every night, therefore we are creating new scenes daily.”
The haunted campground only has four nights left which are, Fri. 19th, Thurs. 25th, Fri. 26th and Tues. 30th. It begins at 9 p.m. they stop selling tickets at 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and 10 p.m. on the weekdays.
Park Manager Stephen Eastin would also like to invite everyone out on Oct. 27 for the Halloween Ball from 7 p.m. to midnight at the park. The ball will feature dance music with a DJ and a costume contest. Prizes will include an overnight stay, dinner for two, or golf for two.
Admission for the ball is $15 per single or $25 per couple. Space is limited, so advance reservations are recommended. You can call the park at (800) 325-1712 for more information about the Haunted Campground and the Halloween Ball.
