What was initially an alleged theft attempt, quickly turned into a robbery at Kroger on Monday. Middlesboro Police Department arrested Patrick Sullivan, of Harrogate, Tenn., and charged him with second-degree robbery. Sullivan was allegedly shoplifting from Kroger when the incident happened. In an attempt to escape from the store, Sullivan reportedly knocked an elderly lady to the ground, according to MPD Lt. Tom Busic. Sullivan was apprehended shortly after. The elderly lady was transported to Middlesboro ARH Hospital for minor injuries, according to Busic.
