Despite windy conditions and rain, Middlesboro ARH continued with its annual memorial tree of light ceremony.
Mother Nature forced organizers to move the event indoors for a majority of the program.
Participants moved back outside to light the tree and sing silent night.
Middlesboro ARH Community CEO Michael Slusher opened the program.
The Pump Springs Baptist Church Chorus, led by Ben Dishner, sang several songs during the program including “Joy to the World,’ “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and many more.
Robbie and Jill Parks sang “Mary Did You Know” for those in attendance as well. Billie Booth read the Christmas Story during the program.
John Nelson and Natalie Campbell read the honor roll of locals who have passed away at the hospital. The two also read the names of those who died in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut.
Rev. Bruce Walzer held the final prayer before everyone the lighting of the tree.
