The Middlesboro boys and girls basketball teams held Jacket Madness Thursday evening as the players for both teams and the cheerleaders were introduced and both the Jackets and Lady Jackets put on scrimmages.

Russell Thompson’s MHS boys team is coming off an 18-14 season that included a 52nd District championship. Seven members of last year’s ten-man rotation are back as the Jackets will look to take another step forward in 2012-13. Middlesboro opens the season Nov. 30 at home against Barbourville.

Elgie Green’s Lady Jackets lost three seniors from last year’s 6-22 campaign, but has a lot of young talent developing and the team will get a boost with seniors Carissa Padgett and Taylor Moyers returning after not playing last season. The Lady Jackets open the season Nov. 26 at South Laurel.
