The girls and boys tennis teams from Cumberland Gap High School finished their regular season this past Thursday. The Lady Panthers finished with an undeated record of 10-0 and are the number 1 seed in the District 2A-AA Tournament.
The girls achieved their perfect season with wins against West Greene, Claiborne, South Greene, Thomas Walker, J. Frank White Academy, Greeneville, North Greene, Chuckey -Doak and Pineville. Sydney Davis is the number one seed in singles, Kierstyn Carmical number two seed, Kellie Taylor is the third, Whitney Elliott is the fourth seed, Hannah Hatmaker is the fifth and Alicia Westmoreland is the sixth.
Sydney Davis and Kierstyn Carmical play at the number one seed for doubles, Kellie Taylor and Whitney Elliott are the number two and Taylor Love and Bethany Wade are the number three seed players. Kaitlyn Harmon is also a member of the Lady Panthers team.
The boys season ended with them in the number three spot in District 2A-AA. Their team members are Darcy Tabotabo at the number one seed in singles, Blake Arnold plays the number two seed, Zach Gilbert number three, Jordan King is number four, Devan Love number five and Jeff Ball is the number six seed.
The doubles teams are Darcy Tabotabo and Zach Gilbert at the number one seed, Blake Arnold and Jordan King at number two, and Devan Love and Jeff Ball at the number three seed. Bailey Elliott and Hunter Warren play for the Panthers as well.
Both teams are coached by Jason Lambdin and will be in action later this week in the District 2A-AA Tournement.
