Faculty and staff at the Page School Center wanted to raise excitement for the upcoming K-PREP testing at their school, so they decided to allow their kids to have a parade the day prior to the testing.
The K-PREP Kickoff raised students excitement about the upcoming tests as well as allowed them to have a short break before the exams began.
Students were encouraged to dress as their favorite ‘Duck Dynasty’ characters for the parade. Camouflage and beards were spotted in classrooms throughout the school.
The Bell County Marching Band, followed by members of the Page Choir, led students in a parade around the school on Thursday.
Members of the band were not the only ones heard during the parade. Students made noisemakers for the event and proudly played their homemade instruments alongside the band.
K-PREP is a public school assessment program that began in the 2011-12 school year. These assessments were collectively named the Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP) tests.
