Two men have been arrested by the Kentucky State Police for theft.
Eugene Greene Jr., 27, of Hulen, and Gary D. Hoskins, 32, of Hulen, were arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking. The two were arrested by KSP Trooper Donald Perry.
According to the criminal complaint, the two men stole a Steel I-Beam belonging to David Mills. The beam was valued at $1,500.
Both men were released from the Bell County Detention Center on Tuesday.
In another report, Holly Elizabeth Witt, 22, of Big Laurel, was arrested on two counts of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance. The charge is a felony.
In other police news, Mitchell Lee Hembree Jr., 28, of Middlesboro, was arrested by officers from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. The charges placed against him in Bell County included receiving stolen property and theft by deception under $500.
According to the criminal complaint, Hembree had a Henry Repeating Arms Lever Action .22-caliber rifle and a Central Arms single shot shotgun in his possession. He allegedly attempted to pawn or sell the guns to East End Pawn Shop for $150.
As of Friday afternoon, Hembree remained in custody at the Bell County Detention Center.
