Staff Report
Two Middlesboro men were arrested on robbery and assault charges earlier this week.
Jason Christopher Clark, 23, and Matthew Dewayne Griffith, 22, were both arrested on the charge of first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
According to the criminal complaint, the two were traveling in a vehicle with Thomas Dillman and a juvenile passenger. The group was allegedly traveling to Beans Fork.
Dillman was told to get out of the vehicle at some point and the driver — identified as Willie G. Flanary — along with Clark, Griffith and the juvenile allegedly started beating him, according to the criminal complaint.
The individuals allegedly beat Dillman and hit him in the head with a handgun.
According to the complaint, the individuals also took $250 from Dillman’s pant’s pockets and four bottles of prescription medication.
The case was investigated and warrants were obtained by the Kentucky State Police. Clark and Griffith were later arrested on the warrants by officers with the Middlesboro Police Department.
Dillman was treated at Middlesboro ARH.
Griffith and Clark were released from custody on Wednesday.
