VERSAILLES — Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College students enrolled on the Middlesboro campus will soon have a new opportunity to apply for financial support, thanks to a new partnership between the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Foundation and the PNC Foundation. The PNC Skilled Workforce Investment Scholarship is a one-time $7,500 scholarship.
SKCTC President W. Bruce Ayers praised PNC Foundation for its generosity.
“Scholarships are critically important to providing much needed support for deserving students who do not have the financial resources to pursue a college education without scholarship support,” said Ayers. “We deeply appreciate the foundation’s support.”
The scholarship will be awarded during 2013, 2014 and 2015.
“A business cannot succeed if its communities are not well positioned for future growth and success,” said Debbie Campbell, PNC Regional Manager, southeast Kentucky. “Our goal with this scholarship is to further the development of Kentucky’s workforce and ensure the long-term vitality of the communities in which we serve.”
Scholarship recipients will receive $1,000 ($500 per semester) to use toward tuition. Recipients will be able to reapply for the scholarship, but will also be considered among new applicants.
