A Middlesboro man was recently indicted on 176 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Daniel Lee Farrington Jr., 42, allegedly forged checks belonging to the account of Park Building, LLC.
The indictment states the forged checks ranged between $50 and $455. The alleged forgery began in December 2011 and lasted a year.
According to Lt. Tom Busic of the Middlesboro Police Department (MPD), Farrington was an employee of the victims in the case.
Officer Justin Barton of the MPD made the arrest on Farrington.
According to the Bell County Detention Center website, Farrington remains in custody.
A woman from Closplint was recently indicted by the Bell County Grand Jury on robbery charges. Joyce M. Partin, 39, was indicted on the charge of first-degree robbery.
According to the indictment, Partin allegedly used a dangerous instrument on a Belk’s employee in the course of committing a theft at the store. She was also charged with being a persistent felony offender.
A man from New Tazewell, Tenn., was indicted on theft charges. Todd Giles, 41, was indicted on four counts of theft by deception under $500 and seven counts of theft by deception over $500.
According to the indictment, Giles allegedly created a false impression to State Electric that he was working for Pump Springs Church and was authorized to make purchases and charge items to the church.
After making purchases, Giles allegedly sold the copper wire to Tri-State Recycling, according to the indictment.
Others indicted recently include:
* Michael Elden Sinkhorn, 41, of Pineville, was indicted on the charge of first-degree promoting contraband, possession of marijuana and for being a persistent felony offender;
* Justin L. Shackleford, 25, of Middlesboro, was indicted on the charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500;
* Jason Michael Collett was indicted on the charge of theft by deception over $500 and for being a persistent felony offender;
* Mike D. Evans, 54, of Middlesboro, was indicted on the charge of manufacturing methamphetamine;
* Elijah Kade Morrison, 31, of Ingram, was indicted on two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and for being a persistent felony offender;
* Cleon Dale Hall, 38, of New Tazewell, Tenn., was indicted on the charge of second-degree robbery and for being a persistent felony offender;
* Charles Wayne Shelby, 41, of Middlesboro, was indicted on the charge of manufacturing methamphetamine;
* Andrew Vanover, 38, of Middlesboro, was indicted on the charge of manufacturing methamphetamine;
* Christopher Hall, 34, of Middlesboro, was indicted on the charge of second-degree robbery and for being a persistent felony offender;
* Amanda Hall, 30, of Middlesboro, was indicted on the charge of second-degree robbery;
* Latonya Farrow, 22, of Middlesboro, was indicted on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by unlawful taking under $500.
