Two juveniles have been arrested for their alleged involvement with the shooting and death of approximately 23 cows.
According to Bell County Sheriff’s Department Deputy B.J. Brock, the two juveniles were apprehended on Wednesday.
Brock said the sheriff’s department followed several leads, resulting in the arrest of the two suspects.
Brock said the two juveniles would be charged with criminal mischief. Brock said he did not know if the charges would be felonies, stating it would depend on the value of the cattle.
The cows were shot approximately two weeks ago with a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22-caliber rifle.
The cattle belonged to three different farmers.
The two juveniles allegedly rode a four-wheeler to the property in the Industrial Park, shooting the cattle.
Prior to the arrests, the owners were offering a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Brock and deputy Shane Stewart were the investigating officers on the case. They were assisted by deputy Max Graves.
