PCH and Lighthouse partner for medical clinic

Pineville Community Hospital (PCH) and the Lighthouse Ministries’ Medical Clinic have partnered to form the PCH Medical Clinic. The clinic is located along U.S. 119 near Page School Center.

Monica Hendrickson, APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) will see patients on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. She will be offering sick visits; sports, school and CDL physicals; well child exams and women’s health services.

Walk-ins will be accepted. To schedule an appointment, people may call 337-9955.

The clinic will also offer free/charitable care services to those who qualify. The free services are income-based. Individuals must live in the Bell County area and be 18 or older.

Hendrickson will operate the free clinic on Thursday morning and Dr. Michael Peterson will be at the clinic on Tuesday evenings. Appointments and pre-approval are required for free clinic visits. Hendrickson and Peterson will treat acute and chronic illnesses during free clinic visits.

Hendrickson just graduated from the nurse practitioner program at LMU in December. Her mother, Charlene Harrell, will work as a nurse in the clinic. Harrell has been a nurse for a long time, according to Hendrickson.

Peterson is providing free services in the clinic as part of a personal mission. The clinic is looking for a dentist to provide services as well. According to Hendrickson, the clinic already has all the equipment for a dentist. Peterson said the clinic would work around the dentist schedule.

The partnership between PCH and Lighthouse Ministries came to be because the ministries had a difficult time keeping a provider to operate its free clinic. The ministries allowed PCH to operate their clinic with the agreement to continue offering the free clinic.

Peterson said they have received a tremendous amount of support from both the Middlesboro and Pineville medical community. The building that the medical clinic operates from, which includes three examine rooms, was donated.
