Middlesboro man arrested on sexual abuse charge

A Middlesboro man was arrested Saturday on a sexual abuse charge. Frank Gilbert Morton, 32, was arrested by Josh Burchett of the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

The alleged victim was 16-years-old.

According to the arrest citation, Morton inappropriately touched the teen in an aggressive fashion inside of his vehicle after offering the female a ride home.

As of Monday afternoon, Morton remained in the Bell County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond. The case is still under investigation by the MPD.
