Two people have been indicted on a wanton endangerment related charges by the Bell County Grand Jury.
Charles Buis, 25, of Middlesboro was indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment, while Julie Nelson, 29, of Middlesboro, was indicted on first-degree complicity to commit wanton endangerment.
According to the indictment, Buis ran over a female with a motor vehicle, thus creating a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury. Nelson was charged because she allegedly aided Buis during the event.
The incident occurred in July.
Case officers were deputies James Taulbee and Jared Smith of the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.
A Middlesboro man was also indicted on a burglary charge recently. Dustin Smith, 23, was indicted for first-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.
According to the indictment, Smith entered the home of the alleged victim while armed with a deadly weapon. He allegedly entered the home by prying the window open. Damage was done to a window and screen.
The incident occurred on Jan. 6. The case officer was Smith.
Other indictments recently handed down by the grand jury include:
■ Manuel Blakley, 27, of Hulen, for first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and for being a persistent felony offender;
■ Laura Lee Raines, 32, of Middlesboro, for leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, first-degree fleeing or evading police, disregarding a traffic control device, operating on suspended/revoked operators license, failure of owner to maintain required security and for being a persistent felony offender;
■ Elizabeth Denise Griffin, 31, of Harrogate, Tenn., for two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and one count second-degree possession of a controlled substance;
■ Justin Norris, 25, of Pineville, for four counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, no operator’s license and failure to owner to maintain required security;
■ Terry Lynn Smith, of Hulen, for no or expired registration plate, operating a motor vehicle under the influence with aggravating circumstance, theft by unlawful taking over $500 and for being a persistent felony offender;
■ Tammy Saylor, 39, of Coldiron, for theft by unlawful taking over $500;
■ Johnny Hubbard, 37, of Middlesboro, for theft by unlawful taking over $500 and for being a persistent felony offender;
■ Melissa J. Sanchez, 36, of Four Mile, for alcohol intoxication in a public place, second-degree disorderly conduct, bribery of a public servant, third-degree terroristic threatening, resisting arrest and menacing;
■ Jeffery Laws, of Middlesboro, for receiving stolen property over $500;
■ Dennis Loop, 31, of Middlesboro, for receiving stolen property over $500 and intimidating a participant in a legal process;
■ Andrew S. Gerding, 31, of Middlesboro, for second-degree robbery;
■ Robin R. Brown, 30, of Rose Hill, Va., for theft by unlawful taking over $500, third-degree criminal trespassing and for being a persistent felony offender. On a second indictment, she was indicted on the same charges;
■ Joshua L. Miracle, 26, Middlesboro, for theft by unlawful taking over $500, third-degree criminal trespassing and for being a persistent felony offender;
■ Michael Holbrook, 33, of Middlesboro, for fourth-degree assault and first-degree unlawful imprisonment;
■Chandra D. Blevins, of Baxter, for four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, four counts of theft of identity of another without consent and four counts of theft by deception under $300;
■ Fred Scott Howard, of Baxter, for two counts of second-degree complicity to commit criminal possession of a forged instrument, two counts of complicity to commit theft of identity of another without consent, two counts of complicity to commit theft by deception over $500, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, two counts of theft of identity of another without consent and two counts of theft by deception over $500;
■ Jerry Lee Oliver, 47, of Detroit, Mich., for first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and for being a persistent felony offender;
■ Robert J. Johnson, 51, of Wallins Creek, for two counts of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance;
■ Amy Renee Bates, 36, of Middlesboro, for first-degree possession of a controlled substance, no/expired registration plate, disregarding stop sign, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance and second-degree possession of a controlled substance;
■ Chris Dixon, 24, of Middlesboro, for third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree burglary;
■ Jeri J. Green, 29, of Middlesboro, for receiving stolen property over $500;
■ Alvis L. Smith, 31, of Hulen, for second-degree burglary.
