I'd like to add we're all thankful that Andy and his family are OK. I just hope our politicians don't wait until someone loses their life before action is taken. We're paying the county more than enough money to get the fire protection we deserve.

It also took the fire department at least 30 minutes to get there. Perhaps if the fire station that just happens to be in the same area as this house that burned down was open, the house could have been saved. I do believe some time back the Emergency Director of Bell County said this on the closings of some of the stations. "Bell County Emergency Management Director Paul Wilson testified he did test drives from the open fire stations to the communities where the stations closed. He told the judge it does add 20 to 30 minutes to response time. He also told the judge they use the fire departments during natural disasters to distribute items or conduct welfare checks." You people that have stood and looked on and said nothing about all of this should really do something about the fire department and the JE situation. Especially with all these fires going on lately. The next house that catches fire could actually be yours. Or one of your loved ones might need a welfare check that could save their lives. Perhaps even the JE himself should start worrying. His own vehicle got put on fire. The response time on that was also 30 minutes I believe. Is there a station in that area that is also closed too? Just saying...

If only that Fire Protection Fund had been used to open a fire station at Big Blue. Our fiscal court told us they had plenty of volunteers to man it. So what happened to that money? ATV trails were more importsnt?
