Cumberland Gap has an annual “Pumpkin Lights” event from Main street to the Festival Park in town. Every year local school children carve pumpkins and they are all displayed on Oct. 29-31. On Oct. 29, the mayor encourages everyone to participate in the pumpkin carving contest. There are cash prizes for the winners. If you are wanting to participate have your pumpkin down there at 5 p.m. On Oct. 31 the fire department is having their annual “trick or treat Halloween party.” Hot dogs and treat bags will be offered. Donations of candy and funds for the 400 treat bags and pumpkins are greatly appreciated. Please drop off your donation at the Cumberland Gap City Hall.
