Bell County Relay for Life Teams participated in the Planet Pink walk on Monday.
The walk was a joint effort of Relay for Life teams to help raise both cancer awareness and money for the American Cancer Society.
The event was a $10 prepaid walk down Cumberland Avenue hosted by Home Federal Bank and Discover Downtown Middlesboro.
Registrants received a “Planet Pink” T-shirt from Home Federal Bank. Thirty-one shirts were sold for the event.
The walk began at 5 p.m. at the Cumberland Avenue Home Federal Bank parking lot. The group walked to the Alexander Arthur Museum in downtown Middlesboro and returned to the bank parking lot.
Although weather did not allow the 2,000 pink tulips planted by the Garden Club to be in bloom for the event, members of the group carried pink balloons donated by Christopher’s Creations.
