Two Middlesboro residents were arrested Tuesday on a robbery charge.
Josh Allen Smith, 20, and Rachel Nichole Farr, 22, were arrested by Jordan Hurd of the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with first-degree robbery.
According to the arrest citation, Farr and Smith were in the process of committing a theft at a residence on Wilderness Street when they used physical force to accomplish their mission.
The victims stated they were injured after being hit with a wooden stick, according to police.
According to the citation, the two were arrested in a wooded area above Ironwood Road. Both remained in custody in the Bell County Detention Center late Tuesday afternoon.
In other police news:
■ Robert James Johnson, 51, of Wallins Creek, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Trooper Roy Pace in Bell County on the charge of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance;
■ Barbara Lynn Skidmore, 24, of Coalgood, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Trooper Jason Young on the charge of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required security, failure to wear a seat belt, failure to produce insurance card, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle and no operators/moped license;
■ James Eric Asher, 34, of Beverly, was arrested by James Taulbee of the Bell County Sheriff’s Department on the charge of second-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct and was served a bench warrant.
