What started out as being a shoplifting investigation turned into an assault charge on Sunday after a Middlesboro woman allegedly assaulted a police officer.Pamela Sue Brock, 22, of Middlesboro, was charged with third-degree assault.According to a citation, Middlesboro Police Officer Harvey Johnson responded to a theft call at Walmart involving Brock. Bell County 4-H to send 5 country hams to state fair

Five Bell County 4-Hers are set to go to Louisville in mid-August to compete in the 4-H Country Ham project at the Kentucky State Fair.The group salt cured their hams in February and hung them in the Knox County 4-H Ham House through the winter and spring.
