Once the home to Bill and Bessie’s and Alfred’s Steak House, Pizza Inn has called 1586 North Broad Street in Tazewell, Tenn., home since July 1981 when local resident Jamey Brown opened the doors to the franchise.Brown originally had several partners but eventually became the sole owner. He had worked his way up as an employee in a different pizza chain prior to going into business for himself. In 1998, he hired a young woman whom, unbeknown to either of them, would follow in his footsteps.

 

Johnson addresses panel about grant applications

It was announced during a regular meeting that the Bell County School Board would be applying for three grants. Lee Co. Sheriff’s Office arrest 2 on theft charges

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested two Harlan County men on multiple theft charges. Buddy Duane Hardy, 40, of Cawood, and Derrick Ray Robinson, 28, of Coalgood, were arrested and charged with two counts of shoplifting, three counts of conspiracy and two counts of grand larceny.According to the press release, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call on a shoplifter at the Dollar General Store in Pennington Gap, Va. Fish unloaded in the canal for Fish Fest

Unemployment rates fall in 21 states last month
