He was a member of Church of First Born Holiness Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Samuel and Mary Louella Tolliver Minton; son, Ronald Lee Minton; brother, Willard Lee Minton; and sister, Madaline Elizabeth Minton.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Minton, Middlesboro; sons, James Ray Minton and Mark Clifton Minton of Middlesboro; daughter, Marcia Louella Sue Minton (Josh) Griffith, Middlesboro; brother, Charles Wilburn (Marleen Marie) Minton, Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Pauline Givens, Ellen (R.E.) Shackleford, Joyce Thacker, Linda (Sonny) Short; sister-in-law, Maeona Minton; Papaw's pride and joy, granddaughter Emily Faith Griffith; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 23, at the Church of the First Born in Middlesboro with the Rev. Ricky Braden, the Rev. Earl Brooks, and the Rev. Jeff Burke presiding. Music by Church of First Born choir.
Burial will be in Sharpe-Evans Cemetery, Speedwell, Tenn. Pallbearers will be Josh Griffith, Josh Smith, William Short, Ray Short, Mark Minton, Danny Givens, Danny Minton, Adam Minton, Wendell Minton and Wilburn Minton. Honorary pallbearers are Dewey Mayes and Matt Partin.
Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Church of the First Born in Middlesboro.
