Born August 17, 1920, at Balkan, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Glessie Pittman. She was a member of Brownies Creek Baptist Church. Clara taught school at Blacksnake, Ky., worked as a guard at the Women’s Reformatory in Peewee Valley, Ky., then retired from the Oldham County School System in LaGrange, Ky., where she was a cook at Oldham County High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee; sister, Hazel Howard; two brothers, Cecil and Lester Pittman.
Survivors include her sister, Helen Miracle of Cubbage; one step-brother, J.B. Wilson of Cubbage; one sister-in-law, Cleo E. Lee of Birmingham, Mich.; three children, Harry (Barbara Cox) Lee Jr., Clarkston, Mich., Phyllis Lee (Martin) Miracle of Cubbage, and Jerry (Karen Sue Boatright) Lee of Cubbage; eight grandchildren, Dwayne (Jena) Lee of Clarkston, Mich., Lori Templeton of Clarkston, Mich., Tawanna (Anthony) Gambrell of Cubbage, Marty (Steve) Mills of Scalf, Ky., Joseph Miracle of Corbin, Ky., Jason Lee and Christy Carder of LaGrange, Ky., Jenny Lee and fiancée Scott Martinez of Cubbage, and Jerry Lee Jr. of Cubbage; 11 great-grandchildren, Josh, Jake, and Jordan Lee; Lucas and Logan Templin; Shelby, Andrew, and Rebekah Gambrell; Zackary and Laura Beth Mills; and Emmy Robbins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Wynn, the Rev. David Gibbons, and Elder Eugene Wilder presiding. Music will be provided by Don Reynolds, Becky Gibbons, and Don Fugate.
Graveside services will follow at Cubbage Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joe Miracle, Dewayne Lee, Jerry Lee Jr., Jason Lee, David Miracle, Scott Martinez, and Mike Beirman. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Vicente Kaw and Dr. Francisco Mappala.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Saturday at Creech Funeral Home.
