Benjamin Anderson Nunn, 58, was indicted in June of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (morphine), three counts of third-degree trafficking a controlled substance (carisoprodol, codeine and darvocet), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone), second-degree possession of a controlled substance (alprazolam) and second-degree persistent felony offender.
He was sentenced to five years in prison on each count and 10 years for being a persistent felony offender. The sentences were to each run concurrently for a total of 10 years.
In an unrelated case, another Middlesboro man was sentenced to five years in prison for robbing Hubert Junior Hoskins in 2003.
Paul David Rogers, 42, pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery and with being a first-degree persistent felony offender. The second charge was later dismissed.
In other court action, Orville E. Smith, 54, of Middlesboro, was sentenced to two years for selling marijuana.
Smith was indicted for trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) in August. He pleaded guilty to the charge in circuit court on Jan. 5.
Jeremiah Flemming, 26, of Middlesboro, was sentenced to one year in prison on drug-related charges stemming from a traffic incident.
Flemming was indicted in May on charges of second-degree trafficking a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
The trafficking charge was amended to second-degree possession and sentenced to one year in prison on that count and six months in prison on the count of driving under the influence. The sentences were to run concurrently for a total of one year in prison.
