HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and the FBI are searching for a man who robbed Citizens Bank on Friday.

According to preliminary reports, a lone, armed robber surprised employees as they arrived at the bank shortly after 8 a.m.

Authorities describe the bandit as a white man in his 30s, about 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds with brown eyes.

The robber forced employees to open the safe and he and made off with an undisclosed amount of money as he escaped in a teller's car. No injuries were reported.

The car was later found abandoned on an old section of railroad track in Shawanee, but the suspect remains on the loose.

Officials say the man was wearing a black ski mask, an Army-style jacket and blue jeans when he jumped from the bushes as the employees arrived.
