Edward E. Winstead, 30, of Russellville, Tenn., is being held without bond in the Lee County Jail after he allegedy abducted and raped a Lee County woman last Wednesday, March 16.
Winstead was charged on Friday after the woman alleged that he held her captive in her home, beat and sexually assaulted her. Winstead is expected to face arraignment charges of rape, abduction and assault and battery.
In a separate case, a Ewing man is being held in the Lee County Jail without bond after he allegedly abducted and assaulted his estranged wife early Sunday morning.
Edwin Cull Catron, 29, is facing a felony abduction charge along with two misdemeanor charges of assault and battery of a family member and one county of reckless driving.
Criminal complaints against Catron allege that his estranged wife agreed to take a ride with him to talk things over' but he became angry, refused to take her home and assaulted her on two different occasions. He is also accused of driving reckless and threatening to drive into other vehicles. He will be arraigned today as well.
