A Hyden man was killed and Perry County woman injured in a single vehicle accident Tuesday evening in Stoney Fork.

According to the Bell County Sheriff's Department, Sherry Fields, 34, Perry County, was driving a 1992 Chevy Astro van west on Ky. 221 when she lost control, went into a ditchline and struck a tree.

Lonnie Napier, 46, of Hyden, was a passenger in the van. Both Fields and Napier were transported by Bell EMS to Pineville Community Hospital. Napier was then flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
