Donald Ray "Duck" Brooks, age 68, was born March 2, 1937 in Tinsley, Ky and passed away Saturday, March 12 at the Pineville Community Hospital.

He is the son of the late Edward Brooks and Linda Begley Brooks Brown. He was an active member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. He was the owner and operator of C & D Trucking Company. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a great friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Faye Brooks.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 48 years, Marjorie Brooks; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Marvin Taylor of Ingram, Ky, Donna and George Lewis of Fourmile, Ky, and Mary Ann and Mike Cupp of Ingram, Ky; grandchildren: Christopher Dan Dean and wife Brandie, Jessica Kay West and husband Travis, Bertha Jo Lewis, William Lewis and Marjorie Ann Lingar; great grandchildren: Kaytlin Nicole Dean, Christoper H. Gage Dean, Nathaniel don Keith West, Lindsey Raye West and Haley Brianna Dean; brother and sister-in-law: Clifford and Shirley Brooks; sister: Sue McCloud, adopted daughter: Joyce Phipps, adopted great granddaughter: Madison Grace Phipps; and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Funeral services were held at Monday, March 28 at 8 p.m. at the Arnett and Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Collett and Rev. Paul Gibson officiating. Music by the Greasy Creek Church Choir.

Burial was Tuesday, March 29 at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, Ky.

Pallbearers: Christopher Dan Dean, William Lewis, Travis West, Jutin Robbins, Larry Perkins, Bill Perkins, Terry Bailey, and Paul Wayne Goodin. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. J.H. Brooks, Tilom Brooks, Burce Brooks, Jerry Centers, Mike Liford, Doug Harbin, and Denver Goodin.
