The conference was held March 10, with five members of Thomas Walker's FBLA club nabbing first through third place finishes in 14 different categories.
"This is a huge deal and we are very proud," said coach Vicki Snodgrass. "We've only been reorganized for a short period of time."
Winners include Sophomore Callie Crocket, first place in Business Math, Senior Ryan Leonard, second place in Business Procedures, Sophomore Rebecca Hatfield, second place in Introduction to Business, Sophomore Samantha Sturgill, second place in Word Processing I and Junior Megan Warf, third place in Accounting I.
All test were taken on-line for the second year in a row during the week of Feb. 14-18, with VA Tech facilitating the testing procedures and grading process. The only acceptation to the procedures was the Word Processing I & II, and Computer Applications test, which are given to the students by a school-designed proctor.
First and second place winners Crockett, Leonard, Hatfield, and Sturgill have advanced to the state FBLA competition, slated to take place in Reston, Virginia on April 1 and 2.
