The concert, which will bring J.B., Barbara, Kevin and James all on stage together singing the Spencer classics, will begin at 7 p.m.
What began with a family's simple desire to serve their local church through music, has since become a ministry for the Spencer Family. JB Spencer and his wife Barbara, along with their three children, Geneice, Wade and Kevin, traveled and sang together for many years. Now the three children, along with their families, have ministries of their own. JB and Barbara are now doing only 30 select dates each year and are very thankful for the heritage that the children's ministries uphold.
Without question, God has certainly blessed the Spencers. Being gifted songwriters, each member's songs have received international airplay, including "In My Robe Of White", He Promised", Let's Meet By The River", It's So Peaceful", and "When I Crossed That River".
Organized in June of 1992 the southern gospel group known as Kevin Spencer & Friends consists of Kevin Spencer, James Dean, and Todd Seaborg.
Kevin Spencer and Friends have recorded three number one songs. Their hit songs and fan favorites include: "The Blood Is Still There", "If The Rapture Was Yesterday", "The Vision", "Let's Meet By The River", "Shepherd of The Lost", "Saved By Grace", "Oh What A Savior", "Come Away", "Sounds of That City" and many more!!!
They have been awarded The Singing News "Horizon Group of the Year" and the Gopel Voice "Sunrise Group of the Year", the two highest honors for a new group to receive. They currently sing 280 concerts per year in 30 different states, Canada, the Virgin Islands, Honduras, etc... and can be seen on many different Christian TV stations including GMT (Gospel Music Television). They fly to most of their appearances. Bill Gaither has invited the group to be a part of his videos "All Day Singing", "So Glad", and "Sunday Meeting' Time." They performed "I Heard About A Stone", "I Kept On Praying" and "Twelve Gates To The City."
