Three female teenagers suffered minor injuries Friday in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 25E just north of the U.S. 119 junction.

According to Sgt. Charles Matthews, of the Pineville City Police Department, the teenagers, all female, were travelling with two males south toward Pine Mountain State Park to attend the Pineville High School prom when the accident occurred.

According to Matthews, the driver of the vehicle apparently swerved to miss a stranded motorist on the side of the road and over-corrected sending their SUV into the guardrail. The vehicle rolled over the rail and came to rest on its left side.

Aside from the Pineville Police Department, members of the Bell County EMS, the Pineville City Fire Department, the Kentucky State Police and the Bell County Sheriff's Department also responded to the scene.

The two male occupants of the vehicle were not hurt in the accident.

The Pineville Police Department didn't release the names of those involved in the accident.
