The Middlesboro Rotary Club presents, "A Night of Jazz with Christina Watson & Friends" on Saturday, June 11, from 8p.m. to Midnight in the Middlesboro Country Club Ball Room. The benefit concert will feature Christina Watson, Middlesboro native and daughter of local attorney and author Bill Watson.

Christina Watson has been described as a jazz singer with a "striking sound, vast range and a great sense of swing" by Grammy Award Winner Cedric Dent. In addition Watson will be accompanied by a number of musicians that normally perform with her in Nashville.

Watson's first CD ""All About Love" was released in 2004 to strong reviews. She regularly performs in Nashville and around the southeast. You can learn more about Christina Watson and purchase her CD from www.ChristinaWatson.com.

"This is going to be an intimate evening of jazz with one of the most exciting jazz voices I have had the pleasure of hearing," says Ken Simpson former director of the Middlesboro High School Band and a member of Rotary. "I am very excited about this. Normally you would have to go to Nashville or Louisville to hear this kind of talent in a venue like this."

Over $1000 in door prizes will be given away during the course of the evening.

This is a formal event; cocktail attire is requested. Desserts, light snacks, soft drinks and mixers will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring their own favorite adult beverage.

Seating is limited for this event. Tickets are $50.00 per person ($100 per couple) and may be purchased at J. Milton's Steakhouse, Avenue Cafe, The Middlesboro Country Club. and the Village Shop and the Village IGA in Harrogate or from any Middlesboro Rotarian.

Proceeds will benefit local Rotary projects, including the Middlesboro Imagination Library that will provide books for every child ages birth to five in Middlesboro, and the Rotary Scholarship Funds.
