One woman was taken to Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital after a two vehicle accident in Middlesboro on Tuesday afternoon. Melissa Bauer was driving a silver Chevrolet Lumina LS when her vehicle was struck by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup as she was entering the intersection of Cumberland Avenue and 15th Street. According to witnesses at the scene the driver of the pickup, which was traveling west on Cumberland Avenue, apparently ran the red light at that intersection. Mrs Bauer was transported to MARH by the Middlesboro Ambulance Service.
