Sterling J. Raney, 61, was indicted on the murder charge along with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Raney's court indictment alleges that on or about May 28 of this year, Raney used a 12 gauge shotgun to kill Danny Raney. Danny died after a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was also found to be in possession of a Raven .25 caliber model MP .25 automatic handgun, a Tanfoglio Giuseppe Model GT .32 caliber automatic handgun and a 12 gauge shotgun.
Raney was also charged with being a persistent felony offender. His trail date has not yet been set.
A Middlesboro man was indicted for failing to comply with sex offender registration for the state of Kentucky.
Claude A. Robinson, 54, was indicted by the grand jury after he failed to register with the state of Kentucky for being a sex offender. He was registered in the state of Idaho prior to moving to Kentucky.
In other cases, a Pineville woman was indicted on the charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition.
Tammy L. Mason, 39, was indicted for charges that stem from an incident that occurred on or about Dec. 18 of last year.
Mason allegedly stole a purse belonging to Virgie Inman that had a value of more than $300.
Michael Honeycutt, 40, of Hulen was indicted for theft by unlawful taking or disposition, possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone), first degree (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia (first offense) and possession of marijuana.
Honeycutt's indictment claims he was charged with unlawful taking after he shoplifted merchandise from Wal-Mart valued at more than $300.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt and trials for the accused are schedule in court for a later date.
