George J. Johnson, 48, escaped on April 9 of last year from custody of the Bell County Forestry Camp. He was serving time in prison at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty.
Johnson was sentenced to serve four years in prison for his escape attempt.
Two other individuals were also sentenced in Bell County Circuit court on various charges.
Chastity C. Blevins, 29, of Coldiron, KY was sentenced to serve on year behind bars for an incident involving her forging a check and then attempting to eat it.
Blevins pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a forged instrument and tampering with physical evidence. Her case stems from a Nov. 23 incident in which she forged a check belonging to Brandi D. Hubick and then attempted to get rid of it by removing it from her pocket and trying to eat it.
She will receive three days credit for time served in jail on these charges.
James Darrell Capps, 44, of Middlesboro was sentenced to serve five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to the charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, third offense, and operating a motor vehicle while license is revoked or suspended for driving under the influence, second offense.
Capps will also serve 12 months in the Bell County jail, this sentence running at the same time as his prison time. His driving privileges and operator's license will be suspended for two years.
