She was born January 7, 1932, in Brownstown, Ind., the daughter of the late Royal Blaze and Wilma Louise Long Robertson. She was a member of the Honeytown Christian Church where she had been the church secretary for many years and had served as a Sunday School teacher, organist and pianist. A registered nurse, she had been the director of nursing services at the Jackson County Hospital until her retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Edward Joseph Flynn Sr., and an infant son.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Jean Flynn, Carol Ann Flynn, Mrs. Mike (Nancy) Stearns, Edward (Debra) Flynn and Mrs. Jay (Mary) Steele; grandchildren, Royal (Candace) Myers, Laura (Todd) Thurman, Jason Steele and Margaret Steele; great-grandchildren, Shane Skylar Prince, Andie Jane Myers and Vian Flynn Grace Steele; brother, Earl (Faye) Robertson; nephews, Michael and Stephen Robertson; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, Ind., with the Rev. Howard Pauley presiding. Burial will be in the Robertson Cemetery at Honeytown.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, 320 N. High Street, Brownstown, IN 47220.
