She was born Dec. 11, 1916, in Bell County, a daughter of the late Monroe Buttery and Florence Engle Buttery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, French Simpson; three brothers, T.O., Author and John Buttery; sisters, Audrey Hembry, and Joyce Faye Buttery.
Survivors include five daughters, Roberta Slusher, Fairfield, Loretta Stewart, Goshen, Ohio, Audrey Bailey, Reno, Nev., Doris Howard and Mary Simpson, both of Hulen; one son, Ronnie Simpson, Hulen; very, very special grandson, James Howard, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; special granddaughter, Rebecca Moses, Hulen; two great-great-grandsons, Matt and Logan Moses, Hulen; two sisters, Mary Brown, Ohio, and Arizona Slaney, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Freeman Clark presiding. Music will be by margie Moore.
Interment will be in the Upland Cemetery at Hulen. Pallbearers will be Tim Sims, Ricky Stewart, David Stewart, Steve Howard, George Howard, Mike Slusher.
The family receive d friends from 4-9 p.m. Friday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of arrangements.
